As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for Brazil team, which will build, engineer, and manage the core banking engine (Mambu), for the Digital Bank and wallet solution. The team will be responsible for engineering technology to manage the charter of accounts, regulatory reporting data feeds per country and integrations to the general ledger.
Role Responsibilities
- Set up the core digital banks and wallet solutions
- Integrate core banking systems into existing payments rails to enable the seamless interface across channels.
- Manage (engineer, develop and code) the core banking system, charter accounts and product development across the assigned region.
- Ensure that the back-end development team follows standard SDLC and PLC procedures and processes.
- Collaborate with Project Manager and other stakeholders with planning and scheduling of product releases.
- Work with manager and peers to proactively suggest areas of improvement and enhancement.
- Work with industry partners in integrating our systems with other applications or systems.
- Propose the most optimum technical solutions to drive industry “best in class” KPI results.
- Coordinate with the Western Union IT teams and development solution integrators to strategically build and maintain core banking products and processes that meet country level specific banking requirements.
- Mature the IT operations support for core banking and the charter of accounts across the assigned region.
- Lead Agile development process at scale. Recruit, develop, and mentor world-class engineering talent.
- Be a culture champion on the team and across the company.
Role Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing, developing, implementing or supporting back-end systems and/or building business critical customer servicing products and launching in market, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a lead developer or team lead, although candidates with other relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong, proven leadership skills are required to collaborate across various teams to arrive at effective solutions.
- Ability to motivate and drive results in a large indirect sphere of influence and think outside the box.
- Excellent communication verbal and written skills enabling effective management of projects and mentoring of junior developers on the team.
- Ability to communicate updates in a concise fashion to various levels of management.
- Expertise with cloud-based core banking systems in the LATAM region is a plus.
- Expertise with general ledgers such as Oracle EBS and Matera in LATAM region is a plus.
